It's Coming

“Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower.”
—Albert Camus
Autumn is my favorite season. Yes, we have autumn in Florida—it’s just not like a typical “autumn” elsewhere. In autumn, cold fronts drop the humidity, and I begin to think being outside is a good idea again. In autumn, I plant a few vegetables hoping for harvest before winter comes.
Autumn isn’t really here yet—but it’s coming. It’s coming.
What’s your favorite season?

Mine is fall, too! And even though it was 91 today (a little too warm for me) we're getting a cold front (I make it sound like a gift and it's going to feel like one!) and we should have lots of 70s temps this week--bliss! I hope you get a break from the humidity soon! I love the idea of a fall garden, too! :)
ReplyDeleteDanielle--I don't think I'd ever heard the term "cold front" until I moved to Florida, and now I live for them! Glad you're about to have some cooler weather. Today was actually pretty nice--hot still, but not as humid...very bearable.
ReplyDeleteFall is my favorite season too - I love the cooler weather and the colors. It was hot again today, but it's been much cooler the last week or so.
ReplyDeleteI love fall too ... it is the season of new beginnings for me. I think that I will forever be on school schedule, lol.
ReplyDeleteIt is funny to think of you planting a garden now. We usually get our first batch of snow at the end of October; not so far away.
Have a great week, Kathy.

Fall is my favorite. Here it can last a week to two months between the heat of summer and the constant cold of winter so I try to appreciate it! If I'd had a third child I wanted to name her September! And, I too feel like whew, summer's on the way out and I survived it!
ReplyDeleteCheryl--It's still pretty hot here, but the humidity isn't quite so bad. Any little bit helps after a long, hot summer!
ReplyDeleteKathy--I feel that way too--I often do my planning/goal setting in the fall when it's not so hot and I begin to have energy again.
ReplyDeleteSnow in October? Guess you definitely don't get in a fall garden!
Timaree--You and Cheryl and I are all sick of hot weather! Hope you get at least a few weeks of nice autumn weather before winter comes.
