Happy People and Hard Times

“Sometimes, life doesn’t just throw you lemons, it
throws you grenades. Personal struggles, transition, illness, loss of loved
ones—these are all unavoidable events that every single one of us will
experience at some point on our journey. This fact can’t be ignored (as nice as it is to not think about it). Happy people aren’t exempt from hard times;
they’re just armed with the foundation, outlook, and effective tools to help
them navigate, survive, and heal successfully, as well as create the best
possible outcomes.”

ReplyDeleteNo problem, Cheryl! Hope you're having a good summer!
DeleteYes, yes...I've recently been thinking about how sometimes there is a pressure to be happy when I can't be all the time. I also believe there is an element of luck, whatever that means, in people's lives...But most important: the attitude, the inner spirit...
ReplyDeleteRita--It's impossible to feel happy all the time, and there are times when our unhappiness can motivate us to make necessary changes. I also absolutely agree that there is an element of luck in our lives, and that attitude is so important to how happy or unhappy we are.
DeleteKathy such wisdom in realizing that no one is exempt from life's troubles. We don't generally get to choose what happens to us but we do get to choose our perspective. Thank you for sharing this quote. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome, Debbie! As you say, none of us is exempt from hard times, but we always have a choice about how we respond.
