Soften Instead

“I
don’t know why it’s so hard to remember that our fears rarely materialize, and
that in bracing ourselves for the impact, we create the impact. If only
we could let go and soften our bodies, soften our minds, soften our expectations,
whatever happens would be felt as a nudge rather than a crash.”

Imagine that being able to happen on a national and global level...in politics...I try...but sometimes I get into battle mode because of fear...This reminds me a a Buddhist concept that a friend of mine shared with me...
ReplyDeleteOh, how I wish it would happen, Rita. There seems to be so much fear (and anger, which is often fear in disguise) everywhere--it's really hard not to get caught up in it. I've had to be very careful how much news I read, because it's too easy to be overwhelmed.
DeleteI am certainly praying for a softening - especially folks' hearts. Thanks for such a wonderful quote friend. Hope you are keeping safe and staying as cool as possible. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteYou said it, Debbie. I'm doing my best to do both of those things!
